ABOUT GCU
The Giant’s Cup Uncut (GCU) is a non-stop ultra-distance challenge that takes runners along the full length of the legendary Giant’s Cup Hiking trail as you journey through the southernmost trails of the
Drakensberg mountains.
Named after the distinctive cup-shaped basin nestled between Hodgson’s Peaks on Giants Ridge in Lesotho, the trail is as rich in geological beauty as it is in heritage. This 61 km odyssey across one of South Africa’s most awe-inspiring natural corridors gives runners the experience of ancient pathways, cascading streams, and dramatic valleys carved into the foothills of the iconic Southern Drakensberg.
