THE 2020 UTD LOCKDOWN EDITION.

During these first three weeks of lockdown it’s become clear that everyone’s training has transitioned indoors. Carpets, gardens, steps, garages, balconies…with technical terrain created by kids toys, laundry, gates, brick steps or pools.

Seeing that 2020 UTD’s original dates fall at the end of our 5 week national lockdown… it would be a shame to let all of that indoor training go to waste. Right?

We’re proud to announce… The 2020 UTD Lockdown Edition!

Frequently Asked Questions

I can’t make the official start time – what should I do? The official start time is just a guide, start your run whenever you can.

I want to do the UTDunlimited run but I don’t want to run constantly from 10amFri-7amSun. UTDunlimited is not a non-stop effort, it’s just a challenge to see how far you can run within the official 45 hours. For example, you can run 40km on Fri, sleep the night, run 60km on Sat, sleep the night and do 15km on Sun before 7am and that’s quite ok.

I want to run further than the 10% distances but don’t want to do the UTDunlimited run, what should I do?
Enter more than one/all of the events, there is an unofficial Grand Slam for those who do all 5 events

Is there a kiddies race?
Sure, have them do the DRJ2.1km or SDR3.2km

I want to do more than one of the races but only want to make 1 donation, is that ok?
Sure, donations are voluntary, it is quite ok to enter an event and not make a donation. We understand that times are tough

I was planning on doing another virtual race on Saturday but want to do the UTD one as well, what should I do?
We are quite ok with runners using one run to ‘qualify’ for two events, so enter both and just do one run

When is prize giving?
The Race Direcotr will film the prize giving ceremony and we’ll post it on our social media feeds on Sunday afternoon.

Who needs to submit race results?
Only the UTD Unlimited runners need to submit their results via email to the Race Director: spurgeon@runningmanadventures.co.za The prizes in the other categories are all Lucky Draws - so you don't have to submit your results.

How do I submit race footage to be included in the race video?
We are assembling all the footage on Google Drive. It’s easiest if you have the Google Drive app on your phone. It’s free!

Step 1: Download the Google Drive app on your phone and sign in or create and account. Your Gmail account will work.

Step 2: Click on the link https://bit.ly/UTDRaceFootage - the app will open and you will see a plus sign on the bottom right of the screen.

Step 3: click the plus sign and upload footage directly from your phone
